Oilfield contracts and incidents
The team at Tatham Macinnes is regularly retained to review oil rig, jack up, accommodation rig, tug support and barge supply contracts. We also assist in contract negotiation, supporting our clients’ in-house legal teams. Because we have always worked in this field we understand the engineering and practical aspects of these operations.
We have a strong litigation capability and have represented clients in disputes in the UK and abroad in relation to claims arising from offshore service, supply and support operations, barge or oilfield service contracts. These include new building and repair contract claims, often with substantial sums at stake. One of our team is a leading shipping QC.
Given our casualty response expertise we are also frequently advising stakeholders in relation to incidents offshore including contact and collision damage, wreck removal, pipeline damage, tug girting or the enforcement of contracts or claims in tort. We coordinate ship arrests, the negotiation of security and the review of insurance terms of indemnity.
One of our consultants is an industry leader in relation to pollution liability and claims.
Our investigation team travels widely to review evidence and take statements.
